While all NSW Government public servants are responsible for contributing to the ethical use of artificial intelligence (AI), there are different levels of accountability for different roles within agencies.
Accountability for the safe and responsible use of AI ultimately lies with executives within agencies, but everyone has a role to play. There are several objectives that help to establish responsible AI practices.
These include:
- fostering a responsible AI culture
- ensuring accountability and transparency
- allocating resources
- ensuring compliance and risk management
- establishing oversight mechanisms.
