This August, the Showcase returns as part of Government Innovation Week Western Australia 2026, with a practical agenda shaped around the issues many agencies are working through right now.

As Western Australia faces increasing economic pressures, growing public expectations, and the rapid pace of digital change, the need for connected, future-focused government has never been greater. In 2026, the public sector must deliver not only smarter services, but also stronger cross-agency collaboration, streamlined processes, and data-led decision-making.
Building on the momentum of 2025, where digital identity, inclusion, accessibility, and connectivity for regional and rural communities emerged as top priorities, the 2026 Government Innovation Showcase WA will bring together leaders from across departments to explore the strategies, technologies, and leadership approaches driving the next phase of transformation.
Aligned with the next chapter of the Western Australian Digital Strategy, the Showcase will address practical ways to overcome persistent barriers such as policy bottlenecks, legacy systems, and funding constraints, while unlocking innovation through shared vision, modern digital capabilities, and bold leadership.
Government Innovation Showcase WA 2026 will bring together public sector leaders for a day of ministerial perspectives, keynote sessions, panel discussions, interactive roundtables and peer networking, all centred on how WA Government can continue building more connected, modern and responsive public services.
Across the day, key themes will include:
- Using digital transformation to improve productivity and service delivery
- Moving from AI interest to practical, responsible use cases
