Webinar- Banter, Why Good People Get It Wrong, and Becoming an Upstander

About This Webinar

Most workplace harm isn’t caused by bad people. It’s caused by good people who didn’t realise they were getting it wrong.

At EEO Specialists, we believe that most of the people who end up in our workshops don’t intend to cause harm. Our job is to keep as many good people out of court as possible. But good intentions don’t always translate into lawful behaviour, and this webinar is about understanding why.

Franca draws on years of workplace behaviour expertise to unpack the six specific reasons good people get it wrong and then turns the focus to empowerment: how passive bystanders can become active upstanders.

Timed to coincide with Men's Health Week 2026 (15–21 June), this session has a particular focus on supporting men -  to see themselves as a powerful part of the solution.

What You’ll Learn

➡     The Six Reasons Good People Get It Wrong

➡     What an Upstander Looks Like

Moving from passive bystander to active upstander. Practical, real-world ways to intervene and make a difference.

➡     The Role Men Can Play

When men understand where banter stops and harm begins, and feel confident enough to step in, they become one of the most powerful forces for change in any workplace. This part of the session is about reframing the conversation, not about blame, but about empowerment and active participation in creating respectful workplaces.
