Driving a Vision of Social and Environmental Sustainability with B Corp Certification

Public Sector Network (PSN) is proud to announce its recertification as aB Corporation, reaffirming its dedication to leveraging business as a catalyst for positive change. The recertification reflects PSN's unwavering commitment to upholding rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

As a B Corporation, PSN joins a global community of purpose-driven businesses committed to balancing profit with purpose. This achievement underscores PSN's ongoing efforts to drive meaningful impact within the public sector and beyond.

“The certification was important to the owners, to be able to hold ourselves to a high standard of business, to have standards when things got tough – to give each other permission to ask if decisions being made were living up to our values and our B Corp status. It also highlights areas of improvement – whilst we have this awesome certification and we’re so proud to be part of this growing movement, there is still so much more that can be done;” said Gemma Mills, Head of People & Purpose at Public Sector Network.

To attain recertification, PSN underwent a comprehensive assessment administered by B Lab, the non-profit organisation behind the B Corp movement. The assessment evaluated various aspects of PSN's business operations, including governance, employee benefits, community engagement, and environmental practices.

“We know events can be extremely wasteful. Which is why we’re always looking to continuously improve to make our events more green. We’ve partnered with Oz Harvest in each of the major cities around Australia to help reduce food waste. We’ve also engaged a third party company to track and trace the carbon footprint of our biggest trade shows which will create a layer of transparency,” says Gemma.

Public Sector Network’s alignment with the B Corp ethos is further exemplified through key social initiatives and employee benefits. Creating diverse, safe and ethical workplaces has been a north star since the business's inception 10 years ago. PSN is proud that their teams are made up of people from diverse backgrounds, races and religions and that 70% of the business’ leadership team is women.

PSN's recertification aligns with its broader vision to create a more sustainable and equitable future. By upholding the values of transparency, accountability, and purpose-driven leadership, PSN continues to promote global government innovation through a socially and environmentally focused lens.
