Event Overview

Transforming Government through Technology-Driven Initiatives

The last two years have reinforced the necessity for robust, reliable, and resilient IT systems that can provide flexibility to the challenges that government is facing today; and will yet face tomorrow. While public sector leaders recognize the value of investing in IT, for many the adoption remains a challenge based on security, compliance, budgetary realities, and competing priorities.

As one of the key pillars in supporting the mission, IT can have a significant impact in the realization of agency goals and objectives. With continual infrastructure and priority reassessments, lessons learned from COVID, and the impact of recent Executive cybersecurity directives – Federal agencies and departments have been realigning their IT strategies by leveraging new approaches, technologies, and procedures to improve scalability and reliability.

Public Sector Network’s Federal IT Insights virtual event will bring together Federal-level public sector thought leaders as they examine and explore how to further transform their IT systems. Join us as we focus on key learnings and actions that will help IT government departments and agencies to continue making modern government a reality for all.

Digital Transformation and President Biden’s Executive Order 14028

The clock’s been ticking: Federal agencies are reaching the end of the first year since the signing of President Biden’s Executive Order 14028, otherwise known as Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity. Federal agencies have had one year to adopt and enact much of the executive order requirements. This EO comes as a direct result of federal agencies being a prime target of cyber-attacks like the SolarWinds cyber-attack of 2020. Bill Tolson will provide insight and address some of the challenges Federal Government leaders and agency vendors face – as they come to grips with EO 14028.

The Scalable IT Environment: Lessons Learned from 2020 & 2021

Responding to the ever-changing reality of the last 2 years has been a nightmare for many across the public sector IT space. Between pre-existent initiatives, transformation spurred by COVID, or recent assessments in the wake of those lessons learned – Federal IT leaders are escalating their integration of scalable design principles.

Join us for this insightful exploration into how the reality of 2020 & 2021 is helping to shape the future of Federal IT.

Meeting the Future Mission: Insightful Education & Training

Leaders across IT are continually faced with the realities of change management and ensuring quality education of their teams during that journey. Whether predicated in technological implementation or procedural innovation – Bill Pratt’s very role is that of a ‘change agent’ within DHS.

Join Bill for an exploration of how he approaches change management within a Department as massive as Homeland Security, while ensuring that people take center stage.

The Path to Implementation

Developing a Center of Excellence from whole cloth is no easy task; especially on the heels of the Executive Order 13960 establishing the principles pertaining to the Federal use of AI. With considerations spanning process, policy, standards, and the governance necessary to effectively and ethically use AI – this Center of Excellence is essential to ensuring a safe space for the deployment of AI within the bounds of the executive order.

Join Dr. Ola Olude-Afolabi with the Department of Commerce for insight into the DOC’s Path to Implementation of their COE and how those steps can help guide your implementation path in the future.

The Impact of Executive Leadership on IT Initiatives

As the nature and scope of IT challenges continue to grow – Federal IT leaders are having a profound impact on the nature of Federal IT initiatives. This panel discussion will convene senior Federal IT leaders for a conversation regarding their approaches to executive leadership, how they go about galvanizing their teams, and how they ensure top-tier outcomes for IT initiatives.
