To keep users engaged, Recy.ai integrates gamification, allowing residents to earn points, badges, and streaks for their consistent eco-friendly habits.   

Beyond sorting, the app offers powerful utility features:

• Bin Day Reminders: Provides timely notifications based on the local county schedule, so users never miss a pickup.   

• Bulky Item Marketplace: A 48-hour marketplace where users can post large, unwanted items. If claimed by a neighbor, it saves the user on pickup fees and diverts waste from landfills.   

• Bin Management: Allows users to schedule bin repairs, replacements, or cleanings directly through the app.  

For local communities and counties, the platform aims to significantly reduce 311 call volumes by digitizing service requests and lower landfill costs by reducing contamination and diverting bulky waste.
