INCREASING INDIGENOUS PARTICIPATION IN THE IT INDUSTRY
Advancing Technical Literacy in Aboriginal communities .Our primary goal is to support Indigenous young people with technology to create learning and professional employment opportunities in the future.
Together with the David Liddiard Group, we invest in social impact programs which improve the digital literacy capability of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and communities. Our end goal is to increase the number of Indigenous youth involved in the IT industry in a diverse range of professional roles.
CLOSING THE DIGITAL DIVIDE with 80,000 LAPTOPS
Our Laptops for Indigenous Youth program aims to get technology into the hands of Indigenous students.
Too many Indigenous youth don’t have access to laptops for study which amplifies the gaps between technology skills they develop and the skills employers need. Our goal is to provide the educators of Indigenous youth with a laptop for every student who needs one, so they can develop the skills which are taken for granted by most students across Australia, including:
- Technology literacy
- Online collaboration
- Research and analysis
The laptops are also an important incentive to attend and engage in school, so more students are likely to complete secondary education which sets them up for a brighter future.
