Digital Transformation Focus of NSW Government

Protecting residents from evolving cyber threats while providing secure, trusted and resilient services will form the heart of discussions between industry and government at the NSW Government Cyber Security Showcase 22 November 2021.

NSW Chief Cyber Security Officer Tony Chapman said the showcase would highlight the importance of cyber security to protect customers as government services become more innovative with technology. With ongoing digital transformation at the heart of the NSW Government, cyber threats are not only changing but are becoming increasingly complex. It is important we ensure our security capabilities are future-proofed and that we move forward to provide customers with a modern government to meet their needs while protecting their information and data.

Mr Chapman also said cyber security was not set and forget, with the showcase to look at ways Cyber Security NSW could engage with industry and continue its mission to strengthen government cyber security capabilities and standards. As cyber threats evolve, it makes sense for our response to also evolve. The NSW Government has an important role in setting the standards and requirements for cyber security within our State. It is critical we continue to listen and work with industry and experts to maintain and enhance cyber security capabilities and ensure we safeguard customer and government information, protect critical assets, and strengthen and improve services. Cyber Security NSW provides an integrated approach to preventing and responding to cyber security threats across NSW, safeguarding our information, assets, services and residents.

The NSW Government Cyber Security Showcase 2021 brought together the finest minds in security to discuss the way the landscape is changing and the role government plays to combat these threats. It also provided the opportunity for government departments and agencies to understand how to build strong cyber resilience to support economic growth, prosperity and efficiency.  It's with this in mind that we are happy to announce that the   Showcase   is returning once again this year on  3rd November  at  Dockside, Darling Harbour  .
