Overview

Public expectations of government services have never been higher. At the same time, agencies at all levels—federal, state, and local—face increasing budget constraints, complex regulatory environments, and rising service demands. According to the Australian Public Service Commission, nearly 50% of APS employees believe their agency needs to improve its efficiency and effectiveness.

Lean Six Sigma is a globally recognised methodology that empowers public service professionals with the tools to optimise processes, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance service delivery. By combining Lean principles (eliminating waste) with Six Sigma’s structured, data-driven approach, this training provides practical strategies to streamline workflows, improve decision-making, and sustain long-term improvements.

This interactive, hands-on course is designed specifically for government professionals, equipping them with the skills to apply Lean Six Sigma methods in real-world public service contexts. Participants will gain a working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles through a mix of presentations, case studies, quizzes, videos, discussions, and practical exercises tailored to the unique challenges of the public sector.

Additionally, participants have the option of one-on-one post-session coaching, enabling them to apply their learnings directly to a workplace project for immediate impact. This foundational course also provides a pathway to Lean Six Sigma Green and Black Belt certifications, further advancing career opportunities in business improvement and transformation.
