Thank you to the over 1,000 public sector leaders, 100 expert speakers, and 56 incredible partners who made Government Innovation Week such a huge success across both days.

As government teams continue to face mounting pressure from tight budgets, economic uncertainty, and competing priorities, one thing was clear: nearly 60% of attendees are actively exploring solutions to help them overcome fiscal constraints. It’s a strong signal for vendors and innovators that government leaders are looking for real answers — and ready to engage.

We’re grateful to everyone who participated, and we’re excited to keep building momentum together in 2026.

In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, it is essential that we prioritize equitable and secure access to digital services for all Canadians.

Events like this enable government leaders to share insights, explore innovative technologies, and collaborate to bridge the digital divide. Together, we can ensure that government services continue to evolve, becoming more responsive, inclusive, and efficient through the integration of cutting-edge technologies.

While I am unable to participate in this year’s activities, I wish participants a great event, filled with meaningful discussions on how we can collectively drive digital transformation and create a more inclusive and accessible future for all.

Workforce, Skills & Capability

The Workforce, Skills & Capability track will unpack how to enhance the Canada Government’s positioning as an employer of choice, map the terrain of anticipated and required skill sets, and avoid ‘talent leakage’ to keep public sector skills inhouse. We’ll explore the evolving intersection between people and AI/technology, and how to align the two for the greatest efficiency, excellence, and productivity. We’ll also discuss how to develop more sophisticated referring of talent, creating pathways for progression between Agencies, and working more collaboratively with HR data, while sense-checking creative and effective recruitment strategies.
