Leading Cyber Awareness in the State of Massachusetts

The State of Massachusetts has long since been a leader in the cybersecurity realm. For decades Massachusetts has been home to a thriving and top-ranked innovation economy consisting of next generation technology companies, academic institutions, incubators, entrepreneurs, and researchers. Massachusetts has continuously been one of the best places in the U.S. to start a business, develop revolutionary ideas, and of course, launch new technologies. With the ever-increasing threat vector presented by new age cyber threats, there is a constant back and forth of threat identification and solution creation. Few organizations are more open to these rapidly evolving threats than that of the public sector. It is imperative that state and local governments be cyber-threat-ready to provide necessary services to the citizens they represent.

Massachusetts is taking this threat seriously, and in 2023, Massachusetts expanded state support for local cybersecurity, with the state security operations center assisting municipalities during cyber incidents. The purpose of funding is to assist units of local government with improving cybersecurity by reducing susceptibility to cybersecurity threats, reducing cybersecurity vulnerabilities, and mitigating the consequences of cybersecurity attacks by enhancing specific cybersecurity capabilities.

Cybersecurity can no longer be a focus point of the C-Suite only, rather it must be the focus of the entire organization to be truly effective in today’s rapidly evolving threat environment.

Government Cybersecurity Roadshow Massachusetts will provide key insights into the current focus areas of cybersecurity leadership at state and local governments. With a keen focus on innovation, strategy development, and networking, the Roadshow will provide an overview of what your organization can be doing to cultivate a more cyber resilient organization.

These are areas of focus we will explore at Public Sector Network’s Government Cybersecurity Roadshow Massachusetts program. The half-day event will provide a unique opportunity to learn from public sector leaders across Massachusetts to discuss new technologies, challenges, solutions, and the way ahead for 2024 and beyond.
