From Bleeding Edge to Leading Edge: Mainstreaming AI In Healthcare
30 March 2023 | Australia
We know that data is one of the most important components to enable the digital transformation of our healthcare systems to drive forwards efficiencies, experience and, most importantly, outcomes. However, managing data within and across the healthcare ecosystem of siloed and disconnected systems, is widely recognised as a growing challenge.
The Covid-19 pandemic not only uncovered just how segregated Australia’s health data is but exaggerated the need for large-scale digital change. Innovative technology systems, advanced data management tools and artificial intelligence (AI) are at the forefront of solving these challenges. This state-of-the-art technology can successfully drive real-world results and is increasingly being used across the full healthcare journey, from initial diagnoses to treatment and prevention.
The case for AI in healthcare is strong. AI has been shown to have the potential to deliver more efficient care, reduce length of stay and prevent readmissions, whilst providing valuable insights – and there is more untapped potential in this space. However, how do we embed AI into our health system to better integrate data, increase clinician and patient confidence in AI, and provide accurate, unbiased results? Managing the balance between human expertise and AI technology must be considered, because one simply cannot exist without the other. But what lessons can we learn from other industries who have successfully adopted AI technology to automate tasks, improve efficiency, and provide valuable insights not possible from human analysis alone?
These are just some of the questions we will explore at the Public Sector Network’s ‘From Bleeding Edge to Leading Edge, is now the time to mainstream AI in Healthcare?’ webinar. Watch the webinar now – bought to you by Deloitte and Google Cloud.
