Driving Digital Workspace Capability for Governments across Canada

Digital Workforce

Event overview

Remote work has become more than a trend, it is a mainstay in today’s digital first world. With Canada’s federal workforce embracing a common hybrid model since September 2024, allowing up to three days of remote work per week, the normalization of distributed teams is in full swing. Across public and private sectors, the ability to work from anywhere is shaping the future of workforce planning, especially as governments and enterprises invest heavily in infrastructure to support this shift.

Employees themselves are overwhelmingly in favor of this new normal. A recent PSAC survey found that nearly 90% of federal workers value remote work and believe it boosts productivity. Flexible schedules have enhanced job satisfaction, reduced commuting stress, and opened doors to a more inclusive work culture. But the success of remote models hinges on more than policies. It depends on whether teams have the tools to actually facilitate a productive work experience while distributed.

That raises a critical question: is technology keeping up with these expectations? The ability to personalize workspaces, manage access, and automate tasks across departments is essential in today’s public sector. For any agency looking to modernize hybrid work, the focus must shift from just allowing remote work to enabling it with a digital platform that supports every user, every time.

As such, Public Sector Network is pleased to partner Omnissa for our, “Driving Digital Workspace Capability for Governments across Canada” event. For this webinar, hosted by Tim Hoffman from the City of Edmonton, we aim to bring in government leaders across Canada to discuss how they are navigating the balancing act of remote work and technological capability.
