Overview

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) products and services is no longer a question of ‘if’, but ‘when’ and ‘how’. AI is rapidly evolving into a mainstream technology that organisations will seek to use to improve business operations and streamline work.

Establishing a proper governance and oversight framework is critical for both private and public organisations adopting AI products and services.

It is therefore imperative that all organisations, agencies, and businesses—whether government or private—retain the confidence and trust of their customers, clients, and the public. This requires taking every possible step (through policy, process, and technology) to ensure that only authorised individuals have access to data and that data is used legally and ethically.

From a government and organisational perspective, it is essential to understand:

  • Context and content: Understanding the nature of AI
  • Data access and usage: Who has access to data, and how it is being used
  • Data security: Maintaining the CIAS (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, and Safety) quadrant in relation to AI
  • Access principles: Applying the ‘Need to Know/Need to Access’ principles
  • How AI operates
  • Challenges: Developing and implementing AI policy, governance, and oversight measures

Special Highlight: Participants will develop their own AI Policy framework during this training. An AI policy template will be provided to assist participants in the development of their workplace AI Policy.
