Event Overview

The Home Affairs Portfolio is charged with delivering Australia’s cyber and critical infrastructure security, leading a national emergency management response, and managing immigration, trade and border management functions.

As the nation recovers from the impacts of COVID and a number of significant natural disasters, it is now more important than ever to continue the dialogue between the Portfolio and stakeholders to support trade, border management and the national emergency response. Key to this is to continue to build the required critical infrastructure that supports these responses, as well as to deliver a more robust national security posture through enhanced cyber resilience, awareness and improved information and intelligence sharing.

To continue to deliver positive outcomes for the Australian Government and community, we will build upon our existing capabilities, adopt a risk-based, intelligence-informed approach to strategic planning. We will continue to work with Commonwealth, states and territories, industry, community and international partners to deliver the best outcomes for Australians. The 2022 Home Affairs Portfolio Summit is an opportunity to grow these conversations as we strive towards building an enduring national resilience capability.

The Summit will be held in Sydney on Wednesday 16 November 2022. This year’s theme National Resilience will bring together industry leaders, senior government executives, members of the diplomatic corps, academia and the community. The program of events includes Ministerial addresses, panel discussions, exhibitions and workshops covering the breadth of the Portfolio’s responsibilities.

You will hear from and engage with a range of speakers from across the Portfolio, partner agencies and industry on issues impacting stakeholders across the portfolio including trade and customs, immigration, cyber security, critical infrastructure, climate adaptation, community and industry resilience. Please join us in continuing the conversation between the Department of Home Affairs Portfolio and Industry.
